Richard Lee Snyder, 84, of Van Kleek Drive, a research engineer for the Radio Corporation of America, Hughes Aircraft and the Army Ordinance Department before his retirement, died Tuesday at Bert Fish Medical Center.
Mr. Snyder, a 1934 graduate of Lehigh University, Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, with a Bachelor of Science, was born 01 November, 1911, in Pittsburgh and came here 30 years ago from Fullerton, Calif. He was an active member of the Little Theater of New Smyrna Beach and held more than 50 patents in the communications and computer fields. Mr. Snyder was elected Fellow of the IEEE in 1962 for "contributions to the development of electron tubes and digital computers."
Survivors include a niece, Lee Snyder Hinton, Ashland, Va., who provided for his care. Settle-Wilder, New Smyrna Beach, is in charge.
